About the Department
The Digital Library Services Department is at the forefront of the Somali National Library's modernization efforts. We manage the technological infrastructure that powers our digital transformation and ensure seamless access to electronic resources for our patrons.
Digital Collections
Our digital repository contains over 10,000 digitized items including rare manuscripts, historical photographs, audio recordings, and government documents. These materials are accessible worldwide through our digital library platform.
Digitization Lab
The department operates a professional digitization laboratory equipped with:
- High-resolution book scanners for fragile materials
- Professional audio digitization equipment
- Large-format scanners for maps and photographs
- Digital preservation storage systems
- Quality control workstations
Online Resources
